In commission for STORMOPKOMST, I created playful and coronaproof solutions to “the new normal”.
One of the many virologists claimed that we would never return to the custom of shaking hands anymore. I proved him wrong.
In order to maintain the required 1,5 meters of distance but to be still able to touch each other, I designed arm extensions with adjustable fingers.
Inspired by the hugging walls popping up in retirement homes, I created adult and children sized moveable hugging frameworks. The used material, PU-fabric, is transparant, easy to disinfect and sustainable.
Additionally, I thought of a way how one could still express his/her emotion, when your features are permanently covered by a mouth mask.
I designed stickers to put on your face mask, differing from a range of emotions such as ‘existential dread’ or ‘casual frenzy’.
